He first appeared in a short video clip titled "This is Slurp. He has a green bean addiction," which was posted on the 9gag website. In the video, Slurp fixates on a green bean, lunges forward, and devours it with a loud slurp. The sound is exaggerated and oddly satisfying, which led to the video spreading quickly across platforms.
